The country’s leading housebuilder has confirmed plans to build much-needed new homes in the market town of Poulton-le-Fylde, after successfully finalising a land deal.
Persimmon Homes Lancashire says it wants to build 274 new homes at the site located at Garstang Road East which has been purchased for an undisclosed sum.
Chris Kershaw, director in charge of Persimmon Homes Lancashire, said: “This project will bring much-needed new homes for local people to a site which has already been identified as appropriate for residential development, creating an extension of the town centre.
“It is an exciting opportunity for us to deliver homes, jobs and amenities for Poulton, including 82 affordable homes, breathing economic life into the area and laying the foundations for a thriving new community.”
The development of the site – which will be known as Moorfield Park – will also offer significant public open space, as well as bringing education and transport contributions to the local economy.
The site is jointly owned by Jones Homes and the two companies will create 519 homes overall.
Mr Kershaw added: “Planning consent is already in place for this development and we anticipate the first homes being available in June.”
